Office 2016 Public Preview Available

The beta is here!

Today, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced Office 2016 is now in public preview (beta) at the Convergence Conference in Atlanta, GA. There is also a blog post about it on the Office blog, with a list of new key features:

    • MAPI-HTTP proteocol
    • Foreground network calls
    • Multi-factor authentication
    • Email delivery performance
    • Lean storage footprint
    • Search
  • Click-to-run deployment
    • Better network traffic management
    • Enhanced distribution management
    • Flexible update management
    • Simplified activation management
  • Accessibility
  • Information Rights Management (IRM)

The public preview is targeted at IT Pro’s and Developers, but anyone can try it out.
